Class of 2023

Fred

Fred Mejia

Fred's a senior in course 15 though he says there's a good chance he'll swap to 6-3 (“I literally just declared for the backpack”). Fred hails from Scranton Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoys jogging around Fresh Pond in Cambridge, playing obscene amounts of ranked chess, and playing cards with his housemates. If you're ever looking to test your Elo, Fred's your guy.

Gabriel

Gabriel Barrett

Gabriel is a senior from Arlington, Virginia studying course Urban Planning and Computer Science with a Spanish Studies Minor. Gabriel has run the gamut of public agencies, having worked on public transit advocacy in Minnesota, economic recovery in Greater Boston, and Bike infrastructure in Arlington all from the comfort of his own home. For fun, Gabriel loves to run pick-up basketball, play his sax, and go on walks (…possibly runs when he's back in shape). He is one of the Rush Chairs of SAE.

Lucian

Lucian Covarrubias

Lucian is a senior studying course 6-2 (or possibly 6-9) from Arroyo Grande in California's Central Coast. He is hands down the funniest and most charming brother in SAE, period. He loves adventuring and exploring, so if you want a trespassing accomplice Lucian's your guy. In his free time he likes to play Smash, Valorant, and guitar, or challenge Kyle to various card games. Warning, he does own an android.

Nathan

Nathan Ramesh

Nathan is a course 2 and 6-2 junior from Lexington, MA (birthplace of America), and is a huge fan of the first battle of the Revolutionary War. He is big on snowboarding, hiking, climbing, running, biking, spelunking, mountaineering, kayaking, and canyoneering. In the summers, he likes to work remote jobs and travel. In his free time Nathan makes music, plays ultimate frisbee, and cooks delicious food. He hopes someday to visit the moon 🚀🌙

Kyle

Kyle Thompson

Kyle is a senior from the Hudson Valley, New York studying course 2 and 22. Kyle likes to hike, go on adventures, and loves wolves. He's naturally pessimistic and one of the co-founders of the Grinds My Gears Podcast (sorry no autographs). Kyle is known for climbing anything and everything, and never backs out of a dare. Watch out if you ever want to try your hand at playing cards with Kyle, he seems to have a psychic connection with them.

Calvin

Calvin Cummings

Calvin is a senior from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He's majoring in Nuclear Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. He's worked at his hometown Chick-fil-a (oh yeah) as well as the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center. Calvin once made some money in the stock market, but don't ask him where it all went. In his free time, he likes to listen to podcasts or have jam sessions with the boys.

Kacper

Kacper Micacz

Born in Poland and raised in Chicago, IL, Kacper is a Course 20 student still deciding whether he wants to go into biomedical research or into medicine. Either way, you can bet that Kacper will be blasting metal music along the road. When he is not studying or working at a metal-themed restaurant, Kacper loves to practice guitar, play snooker/pool, go to concerts, and generally chill with his homies. He currently sits as one of SAE's philanthropy chairs.

Cale

Cale Gregory

Cale is a senior studying 6-2 from Scottsdale, Arizona. In his free time, Cale likes to play pickup basketball, watch football, and a quick Smash. If you ever want to scream at a TV all Sunday, watch football with Cale. Also, remember to bring baked beans.

Trevor

Trevor Carter

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Trevor is a senior double majoring in 6-2 and 18. Rather than schoolwork, you'll often find him working on his UROP projects with groups like the Broad Institute, the Immersion Laboratory at MIT.Nano, and Fibers@MIT in the Research Lab. of Electronics. Outside of work, he's a member of VR/AR@MIT and the Varsity Men's Swimming and Diving team with which he is a 2x individual NEWMAC Conference champion. In his free time, Trevor loves watching movies and listening to all genres of music.
